APOGCE 2017 to focus on sustainability through innovation, collaboration

The SPE/IATMI Asia Pacific Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition (APOGCE) will return to Bali, Indonesia from October 17 to 19, 2017 after its last edition in 2015 proved to be a success.

APOGCE 2017 marks its tenth collaboration for the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the Society of Indonesian Petroleum Engineers (IATMI).

SyamsuAlam, APOGCE 2017 Advisory Committee Chairman and Upstream Director of Pertamina, together with Hendra Jaya, APOGCE 2017 Conference Chairman, said, “The continued weakness in oil prices has compelled industry players to examine and seek optimal strategies to combat the challenges faced by the industry in this low oil price environment.”

They also added that for the industry to remain competitive amidst the volatility, new perspectives and new competencies, along with new operating and development methods are necessary.

The conference, led by a 60+ strong program committee, has adopted the theme “Energy Resilience through Efficiency, Collaboration and Technology”, to ensure the conference encapsulates the need for the industry to focus on a sustainable operational blueprint, innovative technological applications and cost-effective measures.

The current unpredictability of oil prices continues to push industry to leverage on cutting-edge innovations, improve proficiencies and focus on synergistic partnerships to weather this challenging time.

Committee members comprises experts from Baker Hughes, BP Indonesia, ConocoPhillips, Energi Mega Persada, ExxonMobil, Halliburton, NauticAWT Energy Solutions, PETRONAS, Pertamina, Schlumberger, Total E&P Indonesie, Weatherside, Woodside Energy and more.

“There is no better time for the Energy and Petroleum industry to take a step forward in cultivating and integrating our skills and knowledge with technology to boost efficiency. APOGCE 2017 will feature stateof-the-art technology advancements that could be assimilated by the industry disciplines to revolutionize operations, enhance productivity and save costs,” Hendra Jaya added.

The 3-day multi-disciplinary technical conference serves as a dynamic platform for technology dissemination and knowledge sharing while covering an extensive range of disciplines in exploration and production activities.

APOGCE 2017 will share new perspectives and address topics and trends including rejuvenating exploration and development, sustainable brownfield production, asset integrity management, leveraging LNG/CNG for growth and new development opportunities.

The conference is currently proposal papers and encourages all participants of the industry to contribute to shape the regional agenda.
