As Indonesia lowers fuel prices, Pertamina ensures supply

PT Pertamina (Persero) ensures that fuel stock at a safe level following the government’s decision of price adjustment that will be effective starting on January 5th, 2016.

Pertamina Vice President for Corporate Communication Wianda Pusponegoro said current fuel stock managed by Pertamina could meet demand of Premium gasoline for 19 days and Solar diesel fuel for 22 days. Pertamina, according to Wianda, has prepared sufficient fuel supply in anticipation of consumption increases upon the implementation of new fuel price on January 5, 2016.

Currently, the average daily consumption of Premium gasoline stands at 76,546 KL per day and Solar diesel fuel at 37,982 KL per day. Apart from the possible increase of consumption due to reduction in price, Pertamina also pays attention on potential growing demand amid Christmas and New Year festivities.

“Upon the implementation of the new price, we ensure fuel availability, particularly Premium gasoline and Solar diesel fuel, to be able to meet demand. Pertamina has instructed all fuel stations (SPBUs) to give the best services to customers,” Wianda said.

She added that Pertamina also prepared supplies of Pertalite and Pertamax Series. Currently, around 2,168 SPBUs can distribute Pertamina and 4,455 SPBUs can distribute Pertamax.
