Chevron names new head of Asia group

Chevron named Stephen W. Green president of Chevron Asia Pacific Exploration and Production effective April 1, 2016.

Green succeeds Melody B. Meyer who is retiring from Chevron after 37 years to pursue other opportunities, effective June 1. Green, who is currently corporate vice president of Policy, Government and Public Affairs, will oversee Chevron’s exploration and production activities in nine countries across the Asia-Pacific region – a region with which he is very familiar.

Previous to his current position, Green served as president of Chevron Indonesia Company and managing director of the Chevron IndoAsia Business unit from 2008 to 2011. During this time, he was responsible for all aspects of the business unit’s oil, gas and geothermal operations, including exploration, production, project development and business support services.

Joseph M. Naylor will succeed Green as corporate vice president of Policy, Government and Public Affairs, also effective April 1. Naylor, currently corporate vice president of Strategic Planning, will now report to Watson.

Since joining Chevron in 1982, Naylor served in key leadership roles in Downstream & Chemicals, Global Gas, Corporate Business Development, Upstream and, most recently, Corporate Strategic Planning. He also served as chief executive and operating officer of Sasol Chevron.
