A joint development agreement (JDA) is signed by Italian oil firm, Eni and Saudi Arabian petrochemical firm, SABIC to develop a technology that transforms natural gas into synthesis gas.

Fahad Al-Sherehy, Acting Executive Vice President Technology and Innovation at SABIC, and Giuseppe Tannoia, Executive Vice President Research & Development at Eni with Giacomo Rispoli, Executive Vice President Licensing & Supply of Eni signed the JDA, which converts natural gas into synthesis gas to further develop into a high value application to achieve lower CAPEX and OPEX, higher energy efficiency, lower CO2 footprint and wide feedstock flexibility. The agreement also includes construction of an Industrial Demonstration Plant inside the Eni Industrial premises.

The project, which was initially developed by Eni, will sustain the Eni and Sabic business by using the clean and low GHG emission fossil fuel.
