Helm enters into a methanol jv with Proman and SCC
The international marketing network of Germany-based Helm AG, Proman AG and SCC and their subsidiaries will join together to become Helm Proman Methanol AG, creating a global leader in the methanol marketing industry. The three partners have worked closely together in the past.
At 57% Helm AG will hold a majority stake in the joint venture, while Proman AG will hold 38% and Jan W. Spin, CEO and shareholder of SCC, will hold 5%.
The new company will launch its operational activities on 1 July 2018 and will be headquartered in Wollerau, Switzerland, with two further principal offices in Houston, US, and Singapore.

Helm AG is a Hamburg-based family company established in 1900 and one of the world’s largest chemicals marketing companies. The company has over 100 branches, sales offices and participations in over 30 countries and is active in the chemicals industry (Feedstocks and Derivatives), in the crop protection industry, in active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceuticals and in the fertiliser industry. HELM AG has a total of 1,521 employees.
Founded in 1984, Proman has grown from a project management company to become a global multi-asset, multi-regional diversified energy producer.
