Petronas appoints new CEO for lubricants marketing

Petronas is pleased to announce the appointment of Giuseppe D’arrigo as the new Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI).

D’arrigo joined PLI in 2013, and is currently its Regional Head of Europe. He will assume all responsibilities as the new MD/CEO of PLI with effect from March 1 2016, taking over from current MD/CEO Encik Amir Hamzah Azizan, whose tenure will expire at the end of February 2016.

D’arrigo has close to 20 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining PLI, he served as General Manager of GE Oil & Gas in Milan for three years and also led the company’s downstream business sales team for Europe.

He began his career in the industry in Shell, Milan where he served in a series of capacities in Operations and Strategic Marketing, Business Consultancy and Business Management in the downstream business across 20 countries. He left Shell in 2011 as the General Manager of the company’s Italian Retail Business.
