TotalEnergies solarises Vietnam lubricants plant

TotalEnergies has solarised its lubricants plant in Go Dau, Dong Nai Province, marking its first solar-and-battery project in Vietnam under TotalEnergies Eneos. The installation features a 310 kWp rooftop solar PV system paired with a 220 kWh battery energy storage system (BESS), allowing the facility to source up to 60% of its electricity from renewable energy.

The system is expected to generate about 460 MWh annually and cut around 300 tonnes of CO2 emissions, while battery integration ensures consistent power supply, improved grid performance, and cost savings.

Astrid Dassonville, Managing Director and Country Chair of TotalEnergies Vietnam, said the initiative is part of the company’s wider energy transition strategy in the country and aligns with its ambition to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. Since 2019, TotalEnergies has been introducing solar solutions across its Vietnamese operations, including its LPG plant in Dong Nai.

Alexandru Buzatu, Director of TotalEnergies Eneos Renewables Distributed Generation Asia Pacific, said that integrating battery storage with solar PV strengthens energy efficiency, stabilizes the grid, and contributes to sustainability. He added that the company intends to continue delivering tailored energy solutions for customers in Vietnam.
