Rex Energy suffers a loss of US$155 million

Rex Energy posted a loss of US$155 million for the quarter that ended on June 30.

Revenue fell 37 % to US$45.8 million.

The low natural gas prices have prompted losses and cutbacks at many major shale gas producers. Rex officials planned to discuss the results Wednesday morning.
