Air Products completes world’s largest gas complex in Saudi Arabia

Air Products, an American gas company, announces its mechanical completion of the world’s largest industrial gas in Jazan, Saudi Arabia. The construction reaches mechanical completion without a lost time injury in 25 million worker hours since its start in April 2015.

Executive Vice President at Air Products, Dr Samir J Serhan said that the project, which is a joint venture of  Air Products and ACWA (Arabian Company for Water and Power Development ) holdings, has taken three years to engineer, procure and construct. He also added that it took a massive effort to train the construction workforce and ensure safety in the site. A workforce of 6,000 people was at the siteduring the peak of the construction period.

The project can supply 20,000 mtpd of oxygen and 55,000 mtpd of nitrogen to Saudi Aramco’s refinery and Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle in Jazan, Saudi Arabia.
