EPIA presents Current Figures for the photovoltaic market at Intersolar Europe

MUNICH – Photovoltaics are booming worldwide. The latest figures for the photovoltaic market and the prospects for the industry are presented by the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA) at the start of this year’s Intersolar Europe Conference. The report “Global Market Outlook for Photovoltaics 2015-2019” will be published with the support of Intersolar Europe on 9 June 2015. In addition, visitors to the Intersolar Europe 2015 stand at the Messe München, Germany from June 10 to 12 can obtain information on current and future developments in the solar industry.

According to the EPIA, more than 40 gigawatts (GW) of PV power systems were installed worldwide in 2014, with which the global total capacity reached approximately 177 GW last year. The leader in the solar boom is China, followed by Japan and the United States. In five short years, according to the forecast by the association, the total capacity could triple to 550 GW.
