Solutions Project says any country can be 100% renewable

A Stanford University energy researcher says that any country can run on 100% renewable energy by 2050. In fact, he already knows how.

Using the research by the team led by Mark Z. Jacobson, the Solutions Project offers infographics on how each of the 139 countries can achieve using 100% renewable energy by 2050. The Solutions Project, a nonprofit outreach effort led by Jacobson, actor Mark Ruffalo (co-star of The Avengers), film director Josh Fox and others to raise public awareness about switching to clean energy produced by wind, water and sunlight.

The project was launched last year with a plan for all the 50 US states and expanded its research to all 139 countries.
