China Three Gorges and GE signed MOU

China Three Gorges’ Board Chairman Lu Chun met with Jerome Pecresse, President & CEO of Renewable Energy Group of General Electric Company (GE) last November 5.

The two sides discussed such matters as further cooperation in large hydropower projects and cooperation intention in wind power and tidal energy in China, overseas clean energy sector, digital and centralized management and control, as well as exchanges and training programs. Later, under witness of Mr. Lu Chun, Bi Yaxiong, Executive Vice President of CTG and President Jerome Pecresse signed an MOU on Further Cooperation between China Three Gorges Corporation and General Electric Company.

Lu Chun introduced the business layout, progress, and development plans in the coming five years of CTG in domestic and international hydropower and wind power markets, with a focus on the latest development and goals in the company’s offshore wind power and pumped-storage sectors. Lu Chun said that CTG could create lots of opportunities, and hopes GE could fully leverage its experience, value product quality and R&D, engage proactively in competition, and seize market opportunities.

Pecresse introduced the progress in the acquisition of Alstom’s power and power grid businesses by GE, as well as the complementary advantages of both sides (GE and Alston) after acquisition in capital, technology, global operation, and human resources. He expressed that GE will remain committed to the close partnership with CTG; meanwhile, he said, GE has recognized the severity of competition, and will do its utmost to move in lockstep with CTG and strictly control quality and cost, so as to deliver premium services to CTG in diverse sectors.
