Alfa Laval Malaysia signs MoU with UPM as partners in teaching and research in oils and fats processing

KUALA LUMPUR – Alfa Laval, a global supplier to the palm oil industries, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with University Putra Malaysia (UPM) for collaborative efforts of teaching and research in oils and fats processing.
Through this MoU, Alfa Laval Malaysia has agreed to establish and set-up a dry fractionation plant of 200 kg in UPM for collaborative efforts of teaching and research in oils and fats processing for 5 years. Alfa Laval Malaysia will share industrial experience and knowledge to aid university teaching and research using the pilot plant facility.

The collaboration with local university is part of our effort to pay back to the society. The students today are the engineers tomorrow, we believe by transfering our technologies, experience and engineering capabilities through education, Alfa Laval can contribute further to the palm oil industry in this country at maximum efficiency with best product yield and minimum environmental impact, says Daniel Ng, Managing Director of Alfa Laval Malaysia.
